On Saturday, a woman travelling in a PMPML bus in Nigdi was robbed off of gold ornaments worth Rs. 3.55 lakhs by an unidentified person.

The woman was travelling in a bus to Nigdi Pradhikaran, along with her daughter and the latter’s husband when the ordeal took place.

As per the Nigdi police, the woman got off the bus and realised that her bag containing gold ornaments and jewellery worth Rs. 3.55 lakhs was missing.

The robber had also stolen her son-in-law’s smartphone along with the ornaments. An officer from the Nigdi police told the press that they have obtained the CCTV footage and are currently investigating the matter.

The incident took place a day after another case of robbery was filed in Bhosari, when an unknown woman stole a gold bracelet worth Rs. 27,000 from a jewellery shop. The woman pretended to be a customer looking for jewellery when she entered the shop. Nothing unusual was suspected during her time inside the store.

The salesman working in the jewellery shop later discovered that a gold bracelet was missing. Immediately after that he and his coworkers started checking the CCTV footage, and found out that the lady had entered the shop around 5:30 PM. She pretended to be interested in buying the products to divert the salesman’s attention and in a brief moment, she stole the bracelet.

The cops are yet to identify the lady from the CCTV footage and are currently investigating the issue.
