Indian flags swirled around Adelaide today as India beat Australia by 6 wickets to level the series 1-1.

India completed the second-highest run chase in Adelaide to win the match, the best being 303 SL v Eng, 1999.

Leading from the front, the Indian captain made another (his 39th) century in a successful run chase, and was rightly adjudged as the player of the match.

MS Dhoni too, put an end to all the talks regarding his finishing abilities as the former captain raked up his 2nd half-century of the series and finished the game off as only he can.

“There is no doubt that he should be a part of this team. Tonight was an MS classic. Only he knows what’s going through his mind. He calculates the game so well. He backs himself to hit those big hits”– Virat Kohli

Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Ambati Rayudu chipped in with some valuable contributions and Dinesh Karthik provided the finishing touches.

Earlier in the day, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowlers as he bowled a spell of 10-45-4. He got both Shaun Marsh and Glenn Maxwell out in the same over, which turned out to be a major momentum breaker for Australia, who was otherwise looking at a score of around 320.

For Australia, Shaun Marsh anchored the innings and made a brilliant 131 of 123 deliveries.

Glenn Maxwell scored a brisk 48 of 37 deliveries before getting bowled out by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Aaron Finch’s struggle against the incoming deliveries continued as he inside-edged one of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

“Opening the batting and not getting enough runs, its one of those things I reckon. Always tough when you are not getting runs personally. Obviously bit easy when you are scoring runs and leading by example. Gotta be consistent with your game” – Aaron Finch

The cricket caravan now moves to Melbourne. With the series beautifully poised at 1-1, friday promises to be one cracker of a day for the cricket lovers
