India recorded 89 COVID-19 cases on Monday, which is the lowest number of infections in the country since March 27 2020. According to the Union Health Ministry data, the active cases in India declined to 2.035.
In the last 24 hours, a decrease of 84 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload. The Covid case tally currently stands at 4.46 crore (4,46,81,233) and the death toll stands at 5,30,726, as of an 8 am update on January 17 2023.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.05%. Meanwhile, the weekly positivity rate was pegged at 0.09%. The Health Ministry was quoted as saying that the national COVID-19 recovery rate had increased to 98%. Additionally, the active cases now comprise 0.01% of the total number of infections.
Delhi recorded no new COVID-19 infections on Monday. This happened in the national capital for the first time since March 2020. According to the State Health Department, there are only 10 active cases in Delhi at the moment. 931 tests were conducted in Delhi yesterday. The national capital has recorded one death since the beginning of 2023.
According to the Ministry’s data, nearly 220.17 crore doses of coronavirus vaccine have been administered in India so far. The number of people who have recovered from COVID-19 increased to 4,41,48,472, and the case fertility rate was recorded at 1.19%.
