India beat South Africa in 2nd T20 by 7 wickets at Mohali. Captain Kohli’s unbeaten 72 helped India in a comparatively easy run chase. India won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Quinton-De-Kock’s fiery start putting a bit of pressure on Indian bowlers. South African skipper scored a quick-fire 50 in only 35 balls. But he cannot capitalize on start as he dismissed when South Africa had 88 runs on board in 12 overs. Tempa Bavuma tried to build the innings but he couldn’t catch up in the end as he scored almost run a ball 49 runs.
South African team was hoping for a fiery finish from David Miller. But he failed to deliver as he scored 18 runs in 15 delivers. Indian bowlers restricted South Africa on 149 at the end of 20 overs. Deepak Chahar was the pick of the bowlers. He took wickets for just 22 runs in his spell of 4 overs.
In the run chase, India got flourish start as Rohit and Shikhar scored 30 in the first three overs. Rohit was trapped lbw by Phehlukwayo on the individual score of 12 runs. Shikhar Dhawan and Kohli guided the chase with 61 runs second wicket partnership. Dhawan scored 40 out of 31 balls.
In the last 6 overs, India needed only 45 runs. It was way too easy for chase master Virat Kohli as he scored his 22nd T20i fifty in 40 deliveries. He stayed unbeaten on 72 to chase down 150 with an over left.
