Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami Arrested in Two Year Old Abetment of Suicide Case

Founder, editor, and the anchor of Republic TV, Arnab Goswami has been put behind the bars this morning in a connection with abetment to suicide case in 2018. The Raigad police on Wednesday arrested Arnab Goswami along with two others on the behalf of a case filed against them.

Till now, according to the sources, the reason behind the arrest is the alleged non-payment of dues by Arnab Goswami’s Republic TV to an architect who designed the Republic TV’s studio. The reports state that in 2018, an architect named Anvay Naik took his life in 2018 and his wife has accused Arnab Goswami of it.

In May 2018, Anvay Naik and his mother were found dead at their residence in the Alibaug region of Maharashtra and the suicide note by her husband blamed Arnab Goswami for his death. Through social media, she has been campaigning for the case to be investigated in detail, to which Home Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh has directed a special team to look into the case.

Earlier today, visuals were recorded where Mr. Goswami was being forced to get into a police van. Republic TV has accused and blamed police for “manhandling” Mr.Goswami along with his family members. The organization states Mr.Goswami has been targeted over his journalism as he has been critical of Mumbai police over their leniency in handling the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.
