Shop owner robbed in Bhopdev Ghat, Pune: 5 youths arrested

Pune City Police have arrested 5 youths in Bhopdev Ghat, for allegedly robbing a 35-year-old man. A resident of Kondhwa Budruk, Vikas Darekar has filed an FIR at Kondhwa police station. 

According to police, the incident took place on November 29th around 8:30 pm when Darekar who owns the shop of fertilizers and medicines a Hivare village at Saswad was heading home after closing the shop. At Yevalewadi through Bopdev Ghat three motorbikes with eight youths interrupted him. The youths attacked him with an iron rod, pointed a weapon at him. They further snatched and ran from the spot with his bag which carried approximate cash of 1.3 lakhs and his phone. 

An investigation team led by Assistance Police Inspector Chetan More and Sub-Inspector Prabhakar Kapure has been initiated. A trap was laid by Jyotiba Pawar and Amit Salunke, who belonged to the detention branch of Kondhwa police station. The trap was laid in Pimpri-Chinchwad and they successfully nabbed five youths out of eight. 

The accused have been identified as Chetan Vairat (22), Suraj Gaikwad (19), Rohit Babar (21), Rajesh Nighole (22), and Jagannath Waghmare (20), all reportedly residents of the Saswad area. According to the police, Rohit Babar and Rajesh Nighole have been accused of other crimes as well.
