A recent survey by Jeevansathi, one of India’s most established matrimonial sites, found insights which suggest that software professionals received the most number of marriage proposals in 2022. Banking, HR, Admin, Doctors, Finance, Analyst, Consultant, Accounts, Marketing, Professors and Entrepreneurs followed that.

The results also showed a rise in users in the 30-33-year-old age range, showing that people are still interested in getting married after crossing the “ideal marriage age of 30 years”. 39% of newly registered users on the platform in 2022 were 30 or older. In the upcoming years, this may also turn into the new standard. Before deciding to get married, people are also believed to prioritise financial security above burdening their family financially. In addition, participation from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and towns increased in 2022. Of all users, 41% came from Tier 3 cities and 28% from Tier 2.
Rohan Mathur, Jeevansathi’s EVP and Business Head, said, “2022 was not only a year of business growth but it was also a period of interesting trends in the evolving matchmaking industry. We are delighted to see the growing number of users on our platform.”
“We are happy to serve our clients through our wide array of services. Our platform gives access to lakhs of verified profiles with more than 20 filters, including community, location, and income. We have recently launched a free chat feature to enable users to connect with their preferred matches and find their ideal partners. We aim to continue serving our clients with the best-in-class services and add value to their lives by helping them in their endeavors to find the perfect match”, Mathur added.
