The 4th Global Renewable Energy Investor’s Meet (RE-INVEST) 2024 is being organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from 16th to 18th September 2024. RE-INVEST is a platform that aids key participants in the renewable energy sector to come together on a global platform. This includes government representatives, business executives, financiers, scientists, and legislators. The newest innovations in renewable energy technologies and solutions will be on display in a special exhibition. The conference will explore trends, technologies, and regulations that are influencing the worldwide landscape of renewable energy as it relates to energy in the future.
In the global meeting, PM Narendra Modi emphasized that since India is not an energy-producing country and does not have oil and natural gas reserves to sustain its energy requirements, a special focus would be on utilizing India’s solar, wind, nuclear, and hydropower. He said, “ Our aim is not to reach the top but to remain on top. Today, not only Indians but the entire world feels that India is the best bet of the 21st century. Global Fintech Fest was organized earlier this month, after which people from all over the world participated in the first solar international festival. Then people from every corner of the world came to the Global Semiconductor Summit and today we are gathered here to discuss the future of Green Energy.”
India is a member of the International Solar Alliance, which organized the International Solar Festival, aimed at accelerating the adoption of solar energy worldwide by establishing alliances, opening up creative funding, implementing cutting-edge technologies, and increasing capacity in ISA member nations. It aims to bring companies, governments, and financial institutions together and act as a springboard for revolutionary partnerships that will accelerate the global shift to solar energy that is accessible, dependable, and sustainable.
The PM on the global forum made India’s intentions clear to make a sustainable energy path for the future and envisioned a 1000-year plan ahead to exploit the natural resources to their full capacity. The Prime Minister also highlighted the efforts made by the government in the first 100 days of their third term to promote green energy. Under the Vibrant Gas Funding Scheme and the Offshore Green Energy Policy, the government has allocated more than 7,000 crore. In addition, India is developing 31,000 megawatts of hydropower, a project for which it would budget about ₹ 12,000 crore.
The prime minister also reviewed the steps being undertaken to ensure that India has 500 gigawatts of renewable energy installed by 2030. “We are leading the G20 countries. The nation that was previously unregarded as developed will now serve as a model for the rest of the world.”
