In a recent rally in North Carolina, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump directly appealed to women in the United States of America. The former president claimed that the women of America would be delighted due to the abortion bans within the country, citing the elimination of concerns about abortions under stricter bans.
Addressing the crowd gathered at the rally, Trump went on to allege that the opposition, Democrats wanted to execute children after their birth.
He also claimed that if he were to be re-elected, the women of America would have a “happy” future without the worries of abortions. He said “Women will be happy, healthy, confident, and free. You will no longer be thinking about abortion because it is now where it always had to be, with the states.”
Despite the long-standing political discourse, the Pew Research Center Survey has found that more than 63 percent of Americans, all genders included, demand legal abortion in all cases, including that of sexual abuse. However, many states of the United States that are led by the Republican Party have taken considerable measures to curb, moderate, and restrict the overall accessibility of abortion in the wake of the Roe vs. Wade case in 2022. Incidentally, the state of North Carolina where the rally was being conducted also legally banned abortions after 12 weeks of conception.
Donald Trump claimed that he would make women’s lives great again, vowing to love them and take care of them under his potential leadership.
While both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris have reigned over the abortion debate throughout their respective campaigns, voters think differently. A poll conducted by the Associated Press-NORC Centre for Public Affairs Research found that the Democrat nominee Kamala Harris has the support of voters in the formation and execution of such a sensitive policy reform. It was found that 55 percent of voters trusted Kamala Harris as their Presidential candidate while a meager 27 percent have faith in former President Donald Trump.
However, while Former President Donald Trump’s antics get wilder and wilder, political analysts claim that he is still very much in the running after Joe Biden’s withdrawal. Some estimates such as the CNN Poll of the Polls even go as far as to claim that Trump has 44 percent support from the voters.
