25th Kargil Vijay Diwas- Honoring the martyrs of our Nation

On this day, 25 years ago Indian forces outed Pakistani forces from their posts in the Indian region of the mountains in Ladakh. 

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi paid his tribute to the martyrs from the Kargil war the Prime Minister in Ladakh’s Drass area spoke on the occasion of the Kargil Vijay Diwas, he praised the valor of the Bravehearts.

“Today, Ladakh celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Vijay Kargil Diwas, we remember the sacrifices of our lost soldiers,” said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister concerning Pakistan said, “The Indian leader warned its neighbor that Pakistan cannot succeed in its attempts to back any form of terrorist activities. He further added that it “has not learned a lesson from its past mistakes.”

He also added, “ Pakistan continues to rerun its mistakes and not make changes from its failed, despicable attempts to continue the proxy war relevant to terrorism, Today I stand at a place where the enemy can hear me directly, I want to tell the supporters of Terror that their heinous intentions will never acquire success. Indian forces will always crush every effort made in this direction and a befitting reply will be given.”

What does the Kargil Vijay Diwas mean for the nation?

Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorates India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil War, it further marks the conclusion of the most critical warfare mission, Operation Vijay. In this Operation, the Indian Armed Forces reclaimed the Pakistan-occupied territories in the Kargil region in Jammu and Kashmir. 

The conflict between the two nations dates back to early 1971, in which year there was a formation of East Pakistan as a new nation called Bangladesh. 

India and Pakistan continued to clash since then, which included a fight to own the command of the Siachen Glacier- deploying military posts of both nation’s forces. There was a huge sense of animosity between the two when the countries tested their nuclear weapons in 1988. 

To maintain peace and stability and resolve tensions, the Kargil War was very important to obtain the same. yeh Kargil Diwas brings the whole nation together as it did back in the turmoiled times, it is a symbol of our nation’s togetherness and national unity.
