Bollywood actor Angad Bedi is preparing to represent India in an international sprinting tournament after winning a silver medal in a running competition in Maharashtra. Under the guidance of coach Brinston Miranda, the world’s fifth-best hurdle sprinter, he has been preparing for the 400m race scheduled for the year-end in the United Kingdom.
The Pink actor expressed his delight at the news in a press release and stated he feels honored to have the opportunity to represent his country. He also said that he is aiming for the Maharashtra state-level tournament in December which will be followed by nationals. He adds that winning a silver medal in his debut sprinting tournament fueled his desire and determination to pursue sports professionally and that he will give his best and make the country proud.
Angad won a silver medal in a state-level sprinting competition earlier this year in Mumbai. He competed in the 400m event in the 31-40 year age group and finished in 66 seconds. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, he said “Coming from a sports background, it has always been a part of my life like a discipline. The training was inculcated in my life every single day. What pushed and kept me motivated to undergo this transformation is the fact that I felt that I reached a plateau in my life.”
Angad’s Coach Miranda himself is known to be a seasoned athlete who has achieved the extraordinary achievement of finishing fifth at the World Masters Games in 2016. By working with Coach Miranda, Angad is certain to receive top-notch instruction and mentoring that will help him polish his abilities and raise his performance to suit an international level.
