On August 29th, Apple sent out invitations for its annual iPhone event, officially announcing that the unveiling of new products will take place on September 12 at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. While the invitation doesn’t explicitly reveal the products to be showcased, there’s strong anticipation that Apple will introduce its new iPhone 15 series.
The invitation boasts a captivating Apple logo in shades of blue and gold, accompanied by the word ‘Wonderlust’. This event has historically been the platform for Apple to unveil its latest hardware offerings, with a focus on new iPhone models and updates to its Apple Watch lineup.
The event is set to commence at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time (10:30 pm IST) on September 12.
What can we expect from this event?
All eyes are on the next-generation iPhones, including both the standard iPhone 15 models and the high-end iPhone 15 Pro variants.
Of particular interest is the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which is set to feature Apple’s inaugural 10x optical zoom camera. Speculation surrounds the possibility of the model being rebranded as the iPhone 15 Ultra. The iPhone 15 series is projected to be the most expensive range Apple has introduced.
Enthusiasts can also anticipate design changes such as:
- The addition of USB-C
- The introduction of an Action button, which could replace the Ring/Silent switch on high-end iPhone models
The event is also expected to shed light on Apple’s plans for the Apple Watch Series 9 and the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra.
Crucial markets like India and China hold significance, as Apple has cultivated a strong following among young, aspirational users willing to invest in its premium products. In addition to the iPhone focus, Apple’s eventful year includes the announcement of the Vision Pro mixed-reality headset, slated to launch at $3,499 next year.
