Record-Breaker Virat Kohli crosses 14,000 runs in ODI’s

Virat Kohli has become the fastest cricketer to suppress 14,000 ODI runs in the history of cricket. Kohli is the third batter in the history of cricket, to cross 14,000 runs  landmarks,the first and second batsman being Sachin Tendulkar & Kumar Sangarkara respectively. Kohli’s  present average is 57 in ODI’s, while Sachin’s average was 44.13 & Sangakkara’s average was 40, when they reached the landmark.

Kohli’s record breaking achievement came during the most anticipated match between India and Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2025, which was held on 23 February 2025. Virat has been the chase master of Indian Cricket for a long time. His dedication towards the game and his game changing batting performances has been an inspiration to many. He has reached this milestone in just 287 innings while Sachin Tendulkar has taken 350 innings to reach the milestone.

Kohli is the only batsman in the world to have scored 51* centuries in the history of the sport. His career in cricket, especially in ODI’s, are highly appreciated for his great ability to navigate and anchor run chases under pressure. His earliest century was achieved against Pakistan in Champions Trophy 2025. His classy and aggressive approach towards various bowlers from all overs made him a great asset to the team. 

Virat Kohli is considered to be one of the greatest chase masters of the modern game. His 116 against Australia in ODI series at Rajkot while chasing 287, 122*against Pakistan,103* against Bangladesh,101*,108* against South Africa,117 against New Zealand in the 2023 ODI World Cup are few of the best innings he has ever played. His century against Pakistan in the 2025 Champions Trophy came in 111 deliveries with 7 fours. It was a classic finish to the innings, where in he slammed the winning run with a boundary and scored his 52* One-Day International Century.

India is all set to play against the New Zealand on 2 March 2025. India’s victory against Kiwis will confirm their spot in the semi-finals.
