New updates will start rolling out in the next few days for users in the U.S. Google mentioned, among other features, the incorporation of Google Lens for visual search, AI-powered tab comparison giving users product descriptions, and natural language showing a user’s browsing history. Changes that should make Chrome browsing faster, and less bothersome in some aspects.
Google Lens Integration
One functionality that people frequently employ on their handheld is the Google Lens, and now, it comes with the Chrome browser for PCs. It extends the possibility for the user to search for visible pictures through a swipe gesture on the display. For the users of Chrome, any area can be selected on the website, maybe text or even images to get visually similar results. In total, everything described above can be made tangible, as well as colour, brand, and various other specifics of a given search.
Tab Compare Feature
Tab Compare is a new feature that reveals all the summaries created by the AI on the tabs with the help of various products. It becomes crucial while comparing the reviews, price and other necessary details of the products which are to be purchased. Here, it is possible to compare the data successfully and minimize the disruptions in the working tab during online shopping.
NLS (Natural Language Search) for Browsing History
Google is also preparing a natural language search for Chrome’s browsing history. It allows users to find previously visited websites using such conversational queries as, “What was that ice cream shop I viewed a week ago?” This optional feature is switchable in Chrome and does not search through incognito mode. Alphabet Inc.’s Google plans to make it easier to search browsing history to address a frequently cited issue among internet users: being unable to recall visited sites that were not bookmarked.
Availability and Upcoming Launches
Google Lens will debut with the Chrome refresh which is planned to be released in the following days with the AI integrated into the system. The Tab Compare and the browsing history search options will come next, firstly introducing them in the United States over the next several weeks.
Besides such improvements to the browsers, Google has set its sights on releasing its leading smartphone series, Pixel 9 on the 13th of August.
