The National Film Awards, first presented in 1954, are among the nation’s most distinguished and much-anticipated occasions. The honorary President of India gives out the awards, and the public is then shown the films that won the top honors.
The historic 69th National Film Awards were presented on August 24 at 5:00 PM after generating tremendous buzz in the community, where the National Film Awards 2023 winners were announced.
As the names of the films and stars were revealed on a momentous day, the entire industry and fans around the country anticipated it with bated breath. The jury presented the Awards on Thursday at a news conference at the National Media Centre in New Delhi. Many names were floating around, and people were waiting for the formal announcement. On social media this year, Kangana Ranaut and Alia Bhatt were discussed as potential Best Actress contenders for their roles in Thalaivi and Gangubai Kathiawadi, respectively. Other alternatives were the Malayalam movie Nayattu or R Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.

- The Best Actor Award went to Allu Arjun for Pushpa: The Rise.
- For the films Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi, respectively, Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon received the Best Actress Award.
- Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, starring Madhavan, won the National Award for Best Film.
- The movie RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, won national honors for best action direction, choreography, and special effects.
- Best Supporting Actor awards have been given to Pallavi Joshi for The Kashmir Files and Pankaj Tripathi for Mimi.
