Lewis Hamilton’s impending move to Ferrari dominated the Formula 1 chatter of the 2025 season, where he will be teamed up with Charles Leclerc. This has sparked discussions about the potential power struggle within the Scuderia.

Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion will leave Mercedes after spending 11 years with the team at the end of the 2024 Formula 1 season. His transition to Ferrari makes significant changes not only for him but also for the team, which has been in pursuit of a World Championship since 2007. Hamilton aims to secure his eighth world championship title with Ferraris first in almost two decades.

Charles Leclerc has expressed his eagerness to compete with Hamilton in the same car. He views this opportunity as a chance to improve his racecraft. Leclerc’s statement indicates that while there will be competition, there is also mutual respect between the two drivers.

Ferrari has been downplaying the potential power struggles which the two talented drivers might have. Ferrari has been very clear stating Leclerc is the champion of the future. Therefore question arises will they want to make their future champion feel unheard? Many teams have struggled with such dynamics, Daniel Riccardo almost ended his own career because he felt unheard at Red Bull Racing.

Historically Ferrari has struggled with keeping multiple high-profile drives in the team. Hamilton who has been the main driver at Mercedes, will expect the same treatment. The dynamic within the team if not ideal for both the drives will cost Ferrair their chance to win the World Driver Championship as well as World Constructors Championship. In Formula 1 it is fundamental to have a winning car and therefore Hamilton’s move to Ferrari does not guarantee a win.

As the 2025 Formula 1 season approaches, anticipation builds around how Hamilton and Leclerc will navigate their partnership at Ferrari. Both the drives will push each other to excrete the best out of the car. The 2025 season will show the fans how fierce competition within the team can affect drivers’ performance. Will Ferrair reach new heights or lose it all due to clashes within the team, only time will tell.
