What are AI PCs? That could be the first question that might cloud most of our thoughts. AI PCs are computers that leverage and use Artificial Intelligence to improve the existing system software to enhance several aspects like productivity, creativity, gaming abilities, entertainment, and most importantly security.
AI PCs are furnished with a flourishing CPU (Central Processing Unit), GPU( Graphics Processing Unit), and NPU (Neural Processing Unit). The CPU of these computers can process fast and work relentlessly at low latency with smaller processors, The GPU is thorough and processes large inputs; very ideal for large workloads, and the NPU present manages the AI network of the computer.
HP in a slashing power move has unveiled one of the most powerful AI PCs, these are computers mainly aimed at powering up startups and large enterprises alongside retail consumers.
The two new versions that were introduced were the HP EliteBook and HP Omnibook X- both being the brand’s very first CoPilot-inclusive PCs. The new additions are intricately designed and engineered with the super-fast processor Snapdragon X Elite. This fast-processing unit has a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU 6), which is capable of performing 45 trillion operations per second. It allows the processor to run language models directly on the device of the user.
The latest members of the AI PCs i.e. HP EliteBook and HP Omnibook X come with the HP Companion featuring an integrated personal AI assistant powered by generative AI- this technology provides the feature to tailor the data to precision by analyzing and evaluating personal files. The inbuilt Co-Pilot elevates the performance of the laptops, providing the users with a more refined and personalized touch.
The Poly Pro Camera- a professional Webcam; in 1080P HD, takes the impact of virtual interaction to a higher space as it integrates cutting-edge AI features like; Spotlight, Background Blur and Replace, and Autoframing. This feature also pushes the NPU to perform a notch higher while preserving the battery as the camera is used across several applications.
“Nearly 10% of all AI PCs will be sold and over the next two to three years this figure will go up by 50 percent,” said Ipsita Dasgupta- Senior Vice President and Managing Director of HP India.
