The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) achieved first place as the top municipal corporation in Maharashtra following the state’s mid-term evaluation of the 100-day program. The chief minister Devendra Fadnavis established this system to examine how well municipal bodies together with government offices execute their work. PCMC and Thane obtained final presentation status from among six selected municipal corporations during their assessment of twenty-two cities. The evaluation placed PCMC at the top position while Thane took the second place.

The digitization projects with infrastructure upgrades and waste management and innovation alongside public complaint systems enabled PCMC to achieve this level of success. The civic body created a fully accessible platform that delivered real-time information and completed all RTI requirements and connected to DigiLocker along with Aaple Sarkar Portal for improved transparency and operational efficiency.

PCMC enhanced its traffic operations by implementing data analytics for nine crucial junctions that included Mukai Chowk as well as other essential points. The integration of designated turning roads and speed reduction strategies succeeded in enhancing car movements alongside walker protection.

The PCMC is constructing modern public toilets throughout entrance points in the city which contain facilities for disabled persons alongside monitoring systems as well as trash pad distribution points. The company improved waste management through two methods – by selling old office equipment along with condemned vehicles while also obtaining funds from these transactions.

AI-based public complaint management system within the corporation enables fast grievance resolution at an average of 15.7 days. The system enables automatic complaint management through both department selection and location detection which shortens the time needed for reallocation processes.

PCMC maintains strict enforcement of 152 office toilets while providing drinking water facilities at offices and schools and hospitals throughout its territory. The updated public spaces receive modernization through queue management systems and Braille accessibility markers which benefit all users of the facilities. The civic body enhanced governance by implementing AI and GIS technology to create multiple programs that detected hoardings with AI and mapped properties with drones to find unmeasured properties which generated ₹350 crore in revenue.

PCMC will carry out the April evaluation to resolve existing problems while sustaining its position as the highest performing local body under the state’s 100-day program.
