Nandan. M Nilekani, the Co-founder and Chairman of Infosys talked about how there is still a long time before businesses can integrate Artificial Intelligence in their system compared to the deployment of AI robots. He stressed that it requires a long-term approach while integrating Artificial Intelligence into businesses. 

Nilekani told CNBC how Artificial Intelligence requires a long haul as there is a constant requirement for reinvention of the software. He affirmed that Artificial intelligence is the biggest thing happening right now in India. Nilekani further added that many companies in India have structured or unstructured data from several sources across industries and firms can be accurately organized using Artificial Intelligence. In a podcast broadcasted on Zerodha- Nandan Nilekani told that the adoption of Artificial Intelligence can far outweigh the potential costs. 

Nilekani referenced the global companies that can afford up to $50 million a year on infrastructure involving artificial intelligence he said that the companies cannot stop themselves from spending funds on AI, they believe that it is better to be a part of the game by spending enough on development rather than staying on the outlines and eventually be kicked out of the corporate landscape. 

Nandan. M. Nilekani, a 69-year-old who was recently published in TIME’s Top 100 Influential People in Artificial Intelligence in 2024, further said how optimistic he is about the impact AI will have on jobs not only nationwide but globally. There is a lot of commotion saying that Artificial Intelligence might be over, but that will take very long-term research and effort, he said we are still in the early days of Artificial Intelligence and will take a very long cycle of development and work the companies in India will need to reinvent their internal systems involving AI. 

The reinvention of these companies will take long periods, however when that happens and have incorporated into their companies the AI enterprise transformation will take in more into the system that the software will make up for it.

The Infosys Co-founder when asked how was AI pacing in India, elaborated how many companies namely; Sarvam AI and Krutrim are building up Large Language model solutions to work around several Indian languages. He also talked about the investment that Infosys is putting in AI.
