The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, recently announced his guarantee to transform India into one among the world’s top 3 economies in the coming years on Wednesday. This declaration was made and its subsequent discussions were held at the VGGS – Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit – that took place in Ahmedabad.
PM Modi has specified that the current aim is to make Gujarat an important growth hub and “growth engine” for India’s progress as a major step towards the long term goal. India is, as he described, gradually making a remarkable shift towards attaining a position in the list of the world’s top 3 economies; the Indian economy is leading the country to becoming a global business powerhouse. Over many decades since the past century, Gujarat has gone from being a primary trading state to being a hotspot for industrial manufacturing.
Gujarat has seen a prominent increase in investments in the automobile industry as well as notable success in the chemical industry with chemicals, dyes, etc. that are made in the state accounting for 75 percent of all production in India. In addition, the agro industry has begun exporting, along with progress in the pharmaceutical sector.
The Prime Minister also stated that VGGS as a summit must be a significant start for start-ups in the country, with a particular focus on technological and finance institutions. The PM stated his goal to continue making various new developments in India as the summit will continue in the upcoming years; by the nation’s 100th Independence Day in 2047, India must have largely fulfilled its goals of being a developed country and “Aatmanirbhar” or “self-sufficient”.
The core ideas of VGGS are idea, imagination and implementation, citing the need to be capable enough to actually deliver productive results rather than simply coming up with transformative ideas. It requires effective planning, execution and increasing capacities.
Prime Minister Modi also recalled in detail how the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit was set up as an idea to help Gujarat recover after the destructive impacts of the 2001 earthquake. He elaborated on how the idea was met with severe scepticism from those who, as per him, had their own agendas in mind. But VGGS had a broader vision in mind as well and today, it has not only contributed to showcasing Indian culture, the talents of India’s people and numerous investment opportunities, but is also set to facilitate the nation’s rapid progress towards becoming one of the top 3 economies globally.
