Addressing the India-Jordan Business Forum in Amman on Tuesday during the initial part of this three-nation tour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated India is gradually progressing towards being the world’s third largest economy, creating significant growth for Jordanian investors and enterprises.

Prime Minister Modi and King Abdullah II bandied ways to improve cooperation in commerce, industry, digital technology, fertilisers, structure, husbandry, energy, and exchanges between their peoples on Monday at the Al Husseiniya Palace. King Abdullah II welcomed the visit as substantiation of times of fellowship, collective respect, and productive cooperation, pressing openings for business alliances in diligence, information and communication technology, medicinals, husbandry, and energy.
Jordan’s strong stand against terrorism, extremism, and radicalisation was praised by Prime Minister Modi, who noted that Amman and New Delhi had a coordinated strategy to fight terrorism. Recalling their first meeting at the UN in 2015, he confided in King Abdullah II’s leadership in promoting temperance. The monarch denounced all forms of terrorism and raised strong support for India’s fight against it.
According to Modi, Jordan and India may work well together in fields like digital public infrastructure and information technology. “India has turned digital technology into a standard for inclusivity and effectiveness.” Frameworks such as UPI, Aadhaar, and DigiLocker are emerging as global standards today. He stated, “I have talked with His Majesty about integrating these frameworks with the systems of Jordan.”
Modi also remarked that Jordan could become a centre for healthcare and medicine in West Asia and Africa.
“Pharmaceuticals and medical equipment offer a lot of new opportunities.” Currently, healthcare is a major priority rather than simply an industry. Pharmaceuticals and medical equipment should be manufactured in Jordan by Indian companies. ” This will profit Jordanians, and Jordan may also be a dependable hub for West Asia and Africa,” the prime minister said.
“This marks the first complete bilateral visit in 37 years,” said MEA Secretary (South) Neena Malhotra, referring to the visit as historically significant. “This visit also overlaps with the 75th anniversary of our two countries’ bilateral relations.”
Leaders in the fields of structure, health, medicinals, toxins, husbandry, renewable energy, fabrics, logistics, automotive, energy, defence, and manufacturing participated in the event. Members of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, which have a current memorandum of understanding to improve trade and profitable cooperation, made up the group.
