Flights will start operations at Pune Airport from March 5, 2025, at the newly opened Integrated Terminal Building (NITB). This is a landmark achievement in airport infrastructure development.
The transition to the NITB has taken place in stages. By December 2024, nearly 60 percent of the airport’s operations mass had already shifted to the new terminal, mostly with domestic operations. By January 2025, an announcement was made to shift the remaining flight operations-now mostly international ones-in the next 15 to 20 days. The transition on March 5, 2025, was completed, with all flight operations now exclusively from the NITB.
With the full shift to NITB, the old terminal is expected to be upgraded. The coveted arrival section will now be reoriented into another departure section, and an additional security hold area is being planned. The modernization program should now be within completion in 6 to 8 months after work on it begins.
Passengers are suggested to confirm airline updates and reach the new terminal well in advance, allowing them to have an experience with the new amenities and ensuring an uninterrupted journey thereafter.
The migration of all flight operations under one roof at Pune International Airport within NITB is a giant forward step in augmenting city aviation infrastructure. The development is set to improve passenger experience and will cater to the growing air traffic as Pune is growing into a very important economic and cultural hub.
