In a high-speed collision in Chinchwad, a car hit three motorcycles, injuring seven people, one of them severely. The driver was hurt in the collision as well. Under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Nigdi police have filed a complaint against a 19-year-old motorist on charges of careless driving and risking the personal safety of others. The driver, Kulkarni, is charged. The car crashed into three motorcycles in the Dalavinagar neighborhood of Chinchwad, injuring seven people, including the driver, one of whom was in severe condition, according to officials.
Around 11:10 p.m. on Saturday, the accident at Chinchwad’s Dalvinagar Bridge was reported. The injured have been identified as car driver Samarth Kulkarni (19), Someshwar Kale (21), Akashy Bate (22), Rajendra Varade (55), Shubhada Varande (51), Chaitnya Puranik (40), and Padmaja Puranik (42).
The police claim that Kale and his friend Bate were travelling on a motorcycle from Chinchwad to Thermax Chowk. Their motorcycle was struck by a speeding vehicle from Khandobamal Chowk as they were at Dalavinagar Bridge. Bate suffered severe injuries in this incident.
Six people were hurt, along with the driver, when the car later collided with two more motorcycles. According to the police, the driver lost control of the car and crashed into several two-wheelers. The motorcycle riders suffered serious injuries as a result of the powerful impact. Locals and emergency personnel hurried to the spot to assist the casualties and requested medical aid.
Seven people, including a car driver, were hurt, one of them is extremely unwell, according to Shatrughan Mali, senior police inspector at the Nigdi police station. Further investigation has begun and the driver has been booked under the appropriate sections.
Car driver Kulkarni is the subject of a case filed at the Nigdi police station under BNS sections 281, 125(A), 125(B), 324(4), and sections 184, 119/177 of the Motor Vehicle Act.
