PM Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated three Made in India Param Rudra supercomputers along with two high performance computing systems- Arka and Arunika designed for climate research and predictions.
During the inaugural, Prime Minister addressed that Mission Gaganyan doesn’t only indicate reaching space but also reaching limitless heights of scientific dreams. The boosting semiconductor industry was recognised and acknowledged for the short duration of rapid development. In the same context, ‘India Semiconductor Mission’ was announced to further strengthen the sector. Boosting semiconductors in India would help the nation become a strong part of the global supply chain.
The three Param Rudra supercomputers are built with a budget of 130 crore rupees under National Supercomputing Mission. They have further been deployed in Pune, Delhi and Kolkata, to enhance scientific study and research in areas such as cosmology, physics and earth sciences.
Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the efforts put in by the scientists and said India is emerging as a superpower in the field of space achievement. “In the era of digital revolution, computing capacity is becoming synonymous with national capability,” he said. This would mean better understanding and opportunities in research, disaster management, ease of business transactions and the living methods.
India’s trajectory in the field of space study and research has been incredible in the past few years. The success of numerous projects such as Mangalyaan and various others have resulted in India making its way to influence on a global platform.
The boost in the sector not only indicates prosperity in research and knowledge but also in terms of economy, job creation, global supply chain, standards of living, inspiration and betterment of the youth and on the whole, elevation boost to the country on a global platform.
The supercomputers that were inaugurated are situated in three varied locations of Pune, Delhi and Kolkata, marking a major base of research centers. This would mean much efficient research by numerous scientists in various fields of geological sciences, cosmology and physics.
The advancements in this fields mark a sign of pride to the whole nation as this would result in knowledge generation and proliferation for a better and greater good for the generations to come.
