India made history on August 23rd, 2023, by landing on the south pole of the moon for the first time ever and by becoming the fourth nation to accomplish a soft landing on the lunar surface. On August 26, Saturday, Prime Minister Modi will visit the ISRO headquarters to commemorate this historic achievement and to congratulate the ISRO scientists.
PM Modi is currently in Johannesburg, South Africa, for the BRICS conference. On August 26, he will take a direct flight from there to Bengaluru. At 5:30 am and 9 am, respectively, his flight is expected to touch down at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Airport. The Prime Minister will speak with and congratulate the scientists at ISRO Telemetry in Peenya on their successful arrival of Chandrayaan-3 on the south pole of the moon.
