The Pimpri Chinchwad police recently conducted an operation to dismantle a sex racket that ran from an apartment located within a residential society in Sangvi. In connection to this case, two women from Uganda and another individual have been apprehended.
Sangita Jadhav, a police naik (constable) attached to the anti-human trafficking unit of the Pimpri Chinchwad police, filed a First Information Report (FIR) regarding this incident at the Sangvi police station on Friday. The charges in the FIR include Sections 370 (3) (related to trafficking) and 34 (pertaining to common intention) of the Indian Penal Code, as well as various sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and the Foreigners Act.
According to the police, the two Ugandan women who were arrested had overstayed their visa periods. In a press release issued on Saturday, it was disclosed that one of the women had rented an apartment in Vishal Nagar, Sangvi, to run the sex racket. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts being made to gather further information about the case.
