British rock band Coldplay is shining brighter on social media on Sunday as BookMyshow opens its ticket window for the Mumbai concert in January 2025. The band—Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Will Champion, Jonny Buckland and Phil Harvey (manager)—will perform in three concerts on January 18, 19 and 21, 2025 at the DY Patil Sports Stadium, Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra.
The ticket booking scene turned haywire when fans failed to grab even a single ticket while unofficial ticketing sites put up a price tag of Rs 3 lakh when BookMyShow started warning. Even at the third show, thousands of fans returned empty-handed as tickets sold out in minutes.
X user Vijay Narain flagged the possible scam by the unofficial ticketing sites. Apparently, according to ticket seller Viagogo, a re-selling platform that has Coldplay tickets listed for several times higher.
One of the X users, Narain, wrote, how did viagogo get Coldplay tickets exactly the same time as bookmyshow but with black market prices several times higher? Clear nexus and BMS are selling them to Viagogo. Screaming scam!
Official handles of BookMyShow and BookMyShowLive shared a statement urging vigilance against the online ticketing scams from other official ticketing platforms.
“Protect Yourself from Ticket Scams! Coldplay’s Coldplay Tickets Music of The Spheres World Tour 2025 IN – Now that the much-hyped music event of the year is out, beware of ticket scams.
