Uttar Pradesh Anti Terrorism Squad detained Pakistani National Seema Haider and her Indian Lover. This came ten days after they were released on bail by Jewar Civil Court. The Squad reportedly questions them at an undisclosed location in Noida on Monday, 17 July.
DCP (Greater Noida) Saad Miya Khan said last week, “They first met in Nepal in January this year. In mid-May, the 27-year-old woman and her children left Karachi to go to Dubai and then to Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, she went to Pokhara, took a bus, and managed to cross the Indian border. Since she was a woman traveling with four children, she was able to defy security checks”.
The couple said they met on a gaming platform called PUBG – Battleground and fell in love. They claimed to know each other for three years, after which 27-year-old Seema Haider decided to migrate to India along with her four children illegally. They lived in Rabupura Village, which is near Noida in Western Uttar Pradesh.
Seema Haider told Quint, “I was impressed with his skills in the game which is why I initiated a conversation, and we became friends. Soon, we exchanged phone numbers and started talking on WhatsApp and Instagram. We confessed our love in January 2021.”
Both Seema and Sachin urged the government to let them marry, and the former converted her religion and adopted Hinduism. Seema’s family no longer wants her to come back for her defying Islamic societal norms.
Seema has been charged with violating India’s immigration laws, while her lover Sachin and family have been charged for sheltering her.
