Minister Rajbhar highlighted the significant economic impact foreign workers have had on Uttar Pradesh during his speech in the state assembly. Anil Rajbhar, UP minister of labor and employment, told the Legislative Assembly on Friday that the state has successfully sent 5,600 laborers to Israel in search of jobs, and that another 5,000 workers are in the process of being sent.

Responding to a written question from Samajwadi Party MLA Prabhu Narayan Yadav Rajbhar said,”Our workers in Israel are contributing significantly to the state’s economy, sending foreign currency worth ₹1,000 crore annually,” he stated. In addition to employees being transferred to Israel, Rajbhar reiterated that there is an ongoing requirement for about 11,000 caregivers.

With an allowance of ₹2.5 lakh per month for these roles, he said that the state assists with applications for overseas employment, including for 5,000 nurses needed in Germany. Along these initiatives, Rajbhar pointed out that 12,000 caregivers are currently needed in Japan, offering a monthly compensation package of ₹1.25 lakh. He affirmed that the state is actively working to send suitable candidates to meet this need and that applications are being handled.

Rajbhar added that there are a number of measures in place to give job applicants opportunities, including the Seva Mitra system, career counseling, the outsourcing of labor, organizing employment fairs, and facilitating employment overseas.

Rajbhar developed partnerships with the government-supported National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), thus expanding the government’s employment efforts. Will the government reveal how many educated unemployed individuals (Intermediate, BA, MA, Diploma, B.Tech., M.Tech., PhD) there have been in the state during the past two years (2022–2023, 2023–2024), as well as how many people were employed by the Labor Department during that time? “If not, why?” asked the SP MLA.

The number of candidates (Intermediate, BA, Diploma, BTech, MTech, and PhD) searching for work in employment offices in the past two years, according to Rajbhar, is 5,68,062. 4,75,510 candidates were chosen for private sector employment over the same time frame (April 1, 2022–March 31, 2024) through employment fairs organized by the service offices.
