A tragic incident in Bihar shocked the entire state when Vikassheel Insaan Party’s (VIP) leader Mukesh Sahani’s father was found dead at his residence.
On the morning of 16 July 2024, Jitan Sahani (70), the father of VIP Mukesh Sahani was found dead at his residence in Darbhanga district of Bihar. Reports stated that the body was stabbed by a sharp object. He was stabbed in the chest and the abdomen. The police said that a special investigation team of three members was formed to investigate the incident. It was reported by the police that the reason for the murder could be due to “theft or enmity”, however, the reason remains unknown. Two suspects had been arrested; however, nothing has been proved yet.
The incident shook the entire state and the members of all other political members expressed their condolences to Mukesh Sahani. It was reported that when the incident took place, Mukesh was in Mumbai. However, even after the tragic incident, the politicians started blaming each other.
The Nitish Kumar government was ridiculed by the opposition party RJD, about the increasing crime incidents in the state. The spokesperson of RJD Shakti Yadav said, “What is happening in Bihar? Not a day goes by without news of a murder. A mindless government is in power. The system has collapsed,” he said. “May God grant Mukesh Sahani the strength to bear this grief.” He also stated how the people of Bihar have to live in fear each day.
The former leader of Hindustani Awam Morcha, Manjhi in response to RJD’s criticism said “When the RJD was in power, the CM’s residence had turned into the headquarters of all criminal gangs. Nobody can think such things are possible under Nitish Kumar”
Rahul Gandhi the LoP (Leader of Opposition) on his X handle expressed his grief and also stated that he expects the government to handle the situation very sensitively and the culprit would soon be arrested and given strong punishment.
The police told the media that every possible reason for the murder is being considered and that the culprit will soon be arrested.
