Users might soon be able to smoothly switch between two accounts on WhatsApp, doing away with the need to install several copies of the program on their phone. A multi-account feature has been added in a recent update on Android beta, specifically version 2.23.17.8, which enables users to add and switch between numerous WhatsApp accounts on the same app.
According to WABetaInfo, the multi-account feature, which was previously being developed, is now accessible to some beta testers who install the most recent version. By tapping the arrow icon next to the QR code button in the app’s settings, users can add new accounts. From the same menu, they can change to a different account. Each account stays on the device until the user logs out and has its own chats, alerts, and settings.
People who have many phone numbers and want to keep their personal and professional discussions distinct can benefit from this function. Additionally, it makes it easier to use several accounts on the same device since users no longer need to use separate gadgets or programs to access their accounts. On their primary device, users may manage and switch between their accounts using a single app.
Some beta testers already have access to the multi-account option, and more are anticipated to receive it in the ensuing weeks. However, there is currently no indication of when the feature will be available for iOS.
The messaging platform is also developing a new passkey function for Android beta account verification.
