Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay visited Gujarat to look at India’s largest and one of the world’s leading Renewable Energy (RE) companies on 23rd July. The company is situated in Khavda, Gujarat and is run by Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL).
The entire delegation also visited the Mundra Port, which is the biggest merchandise port in India. Mundra Port is also one of the best available ports for commercial usage in India due to its usage of the most modern techniques and technology. The Port is operated by APSEZ (Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited). The port has special significance because it is responsible for approximately one-fourth of the Cargo Movement in the country.
Gautam Adani, one of the leading industrialists of India, and the 11th richest person in the world took to his Instagram handle and posted a gratitude note dedicated to the King and PM of Bhutan expressing his gratefulness to them on their visit to Adani’s 30 GW Renewable Energy site at Khavda.
Bhutan, known as the land of the Thunder Dragon, is expected to collaborate with the Adani Group in eco-friendly enterprises and the trip could also be an indication of possible future alliances between Bhutan’s government and AGEL.
This project is important from the perspective of its usage of Green Energy. Green Energy is the renewable type of energy that does not contribute to polluting the environment. The energy source could be sunlight, rain, tide or even wind. These are the sources of energy that get replenished naturally and their usage does not have a side effect on mother nature.
Mundra was a completely barren wasteland that has now been turned into a resourceful and largest commercial port. The same is the case with Khavda Energy Park. AGEL boasts of zero percent emission rate and its successful use of Green Energy. And now the Khavda energy park has been slowly turning into the largest Global green energy park.
While Bhutan helps India meet its high electricity demand by supplying more than 10% of the electricity it generates. Adani Group on the other hand, advocates for sustainable development in the neighboring countries as well considering its advanced infrastructure.
