President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the US and present the capital’s plan to resolve the prolonged two-year Russian invasion of Ukraine to US President Joe Biden and Presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. His visit comes when the US is preparing to ship a $375 million military package, one of the smaller military aids sent to the war-torn country in recent months. He is anticipated to present his peace proposal, a victory plan.
Zelenskyy, who will also attend the annual caucus of the United Nations, on Tuesday and Wednesday, urged its allies to manifest a just victory. He will display the plan to the President of the United States Joe Biden on Thursday, then review his plan with the presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, on Thursday or Friday. Zelenskyy made an unplanned visit in tight security to a munitions plant in Pennsylvania, where they produce 155-millimetre artillery shells. These shells are critical to Ukraine’s war strategies, as Ukraine has used at least 3 million of them, from the US. The 155 mm shells made in the Scranton plant are utilized in Howitzer systems, where large guns with long barrels can shoot targets up to 15 to 20 miles.
He expressed his gratitude on the microblogging platform X to the United States. The details of Zelenskyy’s peace proposal have been made to the public. The US is the only foreign country to see the peace proposal plan in full. It will later be presented to other partner countries. He said that the entire plan would be ready by November. He expects that the complete plan will help Russia to end the war after the plan is approved by the West The first step of the plan would be to bolster Ukraine’s ability to possess weapons and have a clear destination in the world peace structure. Zelenskyy has persuaded the US and many ally countries to use Western-supplied long-range weapons.
Zelenskyy reiterated that the plan consists of a list of bullet points and that those points are entirely upon Biden’s verdict, and not Putin’s. He stated that the plan would also act as a bridge to a Ukraine-led summit, and wants to invite Russia this year. The honour of the plan depends entirely on the outcome of the upcoming US presidential elections. Trump getting elected as President, would reboot the international policy with Ukraine, which a heavily dependent on military and financial support.
