The deceased was identified by police as RSS district sampark pramukh, Shankar Prasad. The victim, Shankar Prasad, was a resident of the city’s Duma village, as per police reports. On the final evening of the tragedy, he had left his house, on his motorcycle, for Shahrapura before he was fatally wounded near the Duma cemetery by unidentified criminals.
Krishna Kumar, the in-charge of the East Tundi police station, has released a statement regarding the body being retrieved. The victim’s body is said to have been sent for a postmortem at the Sahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital, which is in Dhanbad itself. As per Thursday’s updates on the case, the victim is said to have been involved in a land dispute within his village. To support this statement, an FIR was reportedly found to have been filed at the East police station.
