Union Minister Amit Shah congratulated the shooter trio for bringing India a silver medal in the women’s 10m air rifle team event at the ongoing 19th Asian Games. Amit Shah lauded the outstanding performance of Indian athletes at the Asian Games, particularly the medal-winning shooters, as he shared his appreciation on X, previously known as Twitter. He commended their achievements, emphasizing how they had brought immense pride to the nation, by giving his congratulations to the shooter trio Ramita, Mehuli Ghosh, and Ashi Chouksey of the women’s 10m air Rifle event at the Asian Games for winning the silver medal. 

India secured the silver medal in the Women’s 10-metre air rifle team event, achieving an impressive total score of 1886. Ramita, Mehuli, and Ashi made substantial contributions, with Ramita achieving a score of 631.9, Mehuli securing 630.8, and Ashi achieving 623.3. Moreover, Mehuli and Ramita’s exceptional performances placed them second and fifth, respectively, in the individual event qualification. Meanwhile, Ashi concluded the individual event qualification in the 29th position. After their triumph in the team event, Ramita continued to shine with an outstanding performance, earning herself a bronze medal in the individual women’s 10m air rifle event. She achieved a score of 230.1, securing her position in third place.

In the same event, China’s Han Jiayu secured the silver medal with an impressive score of 251.3, while her fellow countrywoman Huang Yuting clinched the gold by scoring 252.7 points, thereby establishing a fresh Games record. Mehuli Ghosh, another Indian shooter who had successfully reached the final, concluded her performance in fourth place. The exceptional accomplishments of the Indian shooting trio at the 19th Asian Games have established a favourable and promising start for India’s participation in the competition.

India also secured the gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol team event, delivering a stunning and remarkable performance with Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, and Rhythm Sangwan leading the way.

These wins promise India to stand among all the other leading nations in the Asian Games.
