The Squad for Champions Trophy 2025 and the upcoming 3-match ODI series against England has been announced. With Rohit Sharma all set to captain the team,Shubman Gill was named as vice-captain. 

Chief selector Ajit Agarakar was present alongside Rohit Sharma at the press conference during the announcement of the squad. India who  has won the champions trophy twice in the year 2002 and 2012 will look to cash-in this time.  Yashasvi Jaiswal who impressed everyone with his exceptional batting skills is set to make his debut in ODI. The leading run-scorer of the 2023 ODI World Cup, Virat Kohli secured his place in the squad.  KL Rahul who has an average an average  49.15 in ODIs has also secured his spot.

With injury concerns on star bowler Bumrah, Harshith Rana came into the team as a back-up. The 27-year old wicket keeper batsman Rishabh Pant claims his spot in the squad. All-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar also make their way into the team. Shreyas Iyer who was part of the 2023 ODI World Cup squad also makes his way into the team. Kuldeep Yadav is back in ODI’s after 14 months. All-rounder  Hardik Pandya secured his position in the squad. Mohammed Siraj misses out.

Wicket Keeper- Batsman Ishan Kishan, bowler Shardul Thakur and T20I captain Surya Kumar Yadav couldn’t earn their spot, but Arshdeep Singh who was bought for 18 crores by the Punjab Kings managed to. Nitish Kumar Reddy who created an impact in the test series against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Karun Nair sit this one out.
