Karisma Kapoor’s children have filed a plea with the Delhi High Court on Tuesday regarding his assets worth over Rs 30,000 crores. The feud started after Priya Sachdev came up with Sunjay’s will. Karisma’s children have accused their stepmother of allegedly producing a fake will and that they have been intentionally left out of the succession proceedings.
Industrialist Sanjay Kapur, heir to the $3.6 bn company Sona Comstar, died in June after suffering from a heart attack. The tycoon’s demise triggered a series of debates over inheritance and ownership, primarily raised by Rani Kapur, who claimed she was manipulated into signing papers while grieving.
Priya’s legal team claimed the Samaira and Kiaan have been given Rs 1900 crores from the Rani Kapur Trust, the family’s trust fund. “What more do they want?” stated Priya’s legal representative. However, it is allegedly reported that the children were not given any assets. Moreover, her legal team admitted that the will was unregistered.
The plea filed on behalf of the children asks for approximately one-fifth share each. Furthermore, the HC has asked Priya to share an elaborate list of all the assets, whether movable or immovable. The hearing for the plea has been dated for October 9, 2025.
“For the moment, I am only going to register it and ask you to file replies. Along with replies, defendant, 1 will file a list of all movable and immovable assets known to the defendant. Assets to be declared as of June 12,” stated the judge at the hearing that took place on Wednesday, 10th September, 2025.
Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur has also raised concerns and spoken in support of Karisma. She further claimed that about Rs 10,000 cr worth of assets should be to her name. Her legal counsel also stated no response or consideration was given to her continuous emails.
Priya married Sunjay in 2017, while Karisma was married to the industrialist from 2003 to 2016. Priya’s legal counsel also brought up issues over Karisma and Sunjay’s divorce proceedings, saying that Priya is the widow, that Karisma was nowhere to be seen for the last few years.
