2 new Vande Bharat trains to arrive in Rajasthan by next week. The trains will be operated by the North Western Railway (NWR) zone and will improve the connectivity with a better passenger experience. These trains will connect Jodhpur and Bikaner to Delhi.
The first Vande Bharat train of Rajasthan operated between Ajmer and Delhi Cantt. and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on April 12, 2023. It is the world’s first ever high-speed train carrying passengers on high-rise overhead electric (OHE) territory.
The new trains are designed to run at a speed of 160 kmph, and it’s said that they will reduce the travel duration by at least one hour, with a duration of eight hours in total.
The Jodhpur to Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express is expected to depart at 5:30 AM and arrive at 1:30 AM.
The Delhi to Jodhpur Vande Bharat Express is expected to depart at 3:10 PM and arrive at 11:15 PM.
“Two new Vande Bharat Express trains will be launched between Jodhpur-Delhi and Bikaner-Delhi,” a senior railway official said.
Currently, there are 4 Vande Bharat Express trains operating in Rajasthan, which include:

Train number 12461/12462 Jodhpur-Sabarmati-Jodhpur Vande Bharat Express
Train number 20979/20980 Udaipur-Jaipur-Udaipur Vande Bharat Express
Train number 20981/20982 Udaipur-Agra Cantt-Udaipur Vande Bharat Express
The maximum speed of Vande Bharat trains is 160 kmph. These trains are much faster and more comfortable and have an improved travel experience. With the coming of sleeper Vande Bharat trains, they are likely to replace Rajdhani trains for long-distance routes.
