The Bads of Bollywood, the directorial debut of Aryan Khan, the older son of Shah Rukh Khan, released on Netflix today and drew reviews from both critics and audiences. Social media, however, took notice of Aryan’s open jab at Sameer Wankhede in the show’s opening scene, in which a boisterous character exits the police jeep, shouts about the fight against drugs, and accuses the entertainment industry of contributing to the drug problem. The actor, who claims to be involved in the war against “war against drugs” and “NCG”, resembles Wankhede in both appearance and clothing.
Netizens saw similarities, with one commenting on Netflix’s X post, “Bro #AryanKhan literally roasted the life out of Sameer Wankhede. The actor who portrays him also looks a bit like him. Crazy lol.”
Another person wrote, “Guess who Aryan cooked.” “How did they even manage to get a Sameer Wankhede look-alike?” said another user.
For the unversed, Wankhede was a member of the 2021 search team that arrested SRK’s son Aryan Khan, along with Ayaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha, in 2021. He gained prominence when he led the Narcotics Control Bureau’s Mumbai zone two years ago. During that time, the former NCB Zonal Director was looking at high-profile cases, and Aryan Khan’s alleged narcotics seizure case was one of them.
Neither Aryan Khan nor his family commented on the case back then. The Bads of Bollywood raised several eyebrows, with some even speculating that the debutant might have shown what went down that night on the Mumbai to Goa cruise.
The Bads of Bollywood stars Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba, Mona Singh, Anya Singh, and Gautami Kapoor, among others. Produced by Gauri Khan Production, the film also features appearances by Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Karan Johar, and SS Rajamouli, among others.
