Directed by Aditya Dhar and made by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar is a massive spy thriller loosely inspired by real-world covert operations and high-octane spy thrillers. With a masterfully drawn ensemble of Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, the crew tackles a gritty, atmospheric representation of global espionage and geopolitical tension in its 3.5-hour-long film.
Since its opening date of 5 December 2025, Dhurandhar has defied box-office expectations. India opened this film at around ₹28.6 crore (net), rose to ₹31–33 crore Saturday and then rose to ₹43–45 crore Sunday. For the domestic calendar, this took it to an estimated ₹103–106.5 crore in three days.
But abroad it has been equally impressive. Within two days it crossed USD 1 million in North America. By day three, it was estimated to be at ₹34.5 crore, an international figure, turning global gross around ₹158 crore at day four.
Monday (Day 4) was the anticipated weekday slowdown, but the film still garnered ₹23–24 crore at home, resulting in net turnover for India reaching closer to ₹130.8 crore at the end of the week. So on weekdays, audience retention is steady.
These numbers bolster the audacious choice to make Dhurandhar a two-part saga. That’s one reason it’s one of 2025’s most successful Bollywood openers in terms of mass scale, ensemble cast and storytelling scope, and its audience is generally solid. And with strong momentum overseas and stable weekday performance, it is already a contender for one of the year’s biggest hits.
