A Super Fast KSRTC bus travelling from Thiruvanthapuram to Thottilpalam screened a film of actor Dileep’s“ Ee Parakum Thalika”, who was recently found not guilty in a sexual assault case in 2017. A female passenger’s protest against the screening of the film caused arguments among the passengers.
Lakshmi R Shekar, one of the passengers, said that passengers travelling in the bus should not be forced to watch films in which they have no interest. Many agreed with her point, but few supported the actor and questioned the need for the protest. Not all passengers supported the decision to stop the film.
Responding to this, she pointed out that several women on the bus were uncomfortable watching such films during their journey. She maintained that regardless of past court rulings. Dileep’s films should not be screened on the bus. Her firm stance received backing from some women passengers.
As it was turning into a very heated argument, the bus conductor slowly came and turned off the movie.
Malayalam actress Manju Warrier spoke publicly about the issue for the first time through an Instagram post after actor Dileep was found not guilty in the 2017 sexual assault case. In her post, she said that she respects the court and its verdict, but believes that justice has not been fully delivered because the person or the people who planned the crime are still roaming around freely. According to her, justice will be complete only when everyone involved in the crime is held accountable.
