A 10th-standard boy was allegedly stabbed to death by one of his classmates inside a classroom of a private coaching centre in Pune district on Monday, said the Police.
The incident took place at 08:55 AM at the private coaching centre on Court Road in Rajgurunagar in Pune. Both the students were of Class 10th standard, as reported by the Pune Rural Police.
According to the police, the attack was accelerated due to an old dispute between the two. The juvenile was witnessed walking inside the classroom with a knife in his hands and attacked his classmate, stabbing his neck. Following the incident, the victim was taken to a hospital but the doctor could not save him.
Previous investigations had shown a dispute between the two classmates.
First-hand investigation of the case suggested that the two classmates had a fight two-three days ago after their coaching class. The attack is believed to be the result of that dispute. The juvenile attacked the victim’s neck and abdomen, from where the victim was hurried to the nearby Rural Hospital, Chandoli, where he was declared dead, as reported by the Police.
On receiving the report on the incident, the police immediately launched a probe in the area and teams were deployed. The juvenile was called at the police station and detained there. The police have decided to keep him detained until Tuesday, as he’s been charged with murder, after which he will be presented to the Juvenile Justice Board. The officials said that they are probing the exact reason behind the attack.
