The Mahayuti alliance consisting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena and National Congress Party (NCP) is leading in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections in 32 wards . Following them, the Thackeray brothers, Uddhav Thackeray (UDT) and Raj Thackeray of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) are leading in 21 wards. The Congress and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) alliance is leading in 3 wards. In the Mahayuti alliance, the BJP is leading in 24 wards, whereas Shiv Sena is in 8 wards. Their rivalry, Shiv Sena UBT alliance led by Uddhav Thackeray is leading in 15 wards and the MNS leads in 6 wards. The first round of counting is in progress 56 out of the 227 wards in BMC.
