Reacting to trends from the Maharashtra civic polls, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale said exit polls broadly reflect public mood, indicating a strong showing by the BJP. Speaking to PTI, he expressed confidence that the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance will form the government in the BMC with a clear majority. Athawale said the alliance is leading in cities such as Pune, Nagpur and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, adding that even where there is no formal alliance, both parties are performing strongly. He dismissed suggestions of a neck-and-neck contest.
