Former MP, Prajwal Revenna sentenced for life imprisonment assigned as a library clerk

Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda’s grandson, ex MP Prajwal Revanna has connection with a rape case due to which he is serving in Parappana Agrahara  as a library clerk.

Revanna is said to be connected with a rape case, resulting in him being sentenced to life imprisonment.

His task is to issue books to other prisoners and maintain records of book borrowings, as per the prison authorities.

“He is entitled to Rs 522 for each day of work, provided he completes the prescribed duties. In line with prison rules, life convicts are required to perform some form of labour, and assignments are made depending on their skills and willingness” a jail official said to PTI.

 He did his work for one day so far. These tasks assigned to the prisoners are supposed to be for 12 days per month which means 3 days per week. The jail administration allotted him to work as a library clerk though he wanted to work in the administrative management.

Revanna, whose father is JD(S) leader and Holenarasipura MLA H.D. His grandfather, the former Prime Minister and JD(S) founder H.D.Deve Gowda, was convicted of four criminal cases against him last month.

He has his name involved in four cases, allegations of sexual harassment and rape are included. One of these cases resulted in his conviction on 1st August, the housemaid at his family farmhouse in Hassan, Karnataka who is 48 years old is also included.

Revanna broke down after the court’s decision and implied that it’s a setup by the prosecution and that the women who filed complaints against him were a part of it. Despite all of his allegations the court announced its decision and fined him of Rs 10 lakh and life imprisonment.
