The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) condemns Pakistan’s de facto military ruler Syed Asim Munir’s threat of taking down half the world if his country faces any existential threat of war by India. India in its official statement by MEA’s spokesperson said that “The International community can draw its own conclusions on the irresponsibility inherent in such remarks” stating its disappointment in Pakistan’s irresponsible remarks. 

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) change of command ceremony was recently held in the  USA.Pakistan’s military officer Syed Asim Munir marked his presence there. During his stay in the USA, he addressed the people of Pakistan origin in Tampa. While addressing the crowd, he reportedly threatened a nuclear war, killing half the world if any existential threat arises with India. He also threatened to destroy any infrastructures that are built over the Indus water channels by India if it disturbs the water flow to Pakistan.

As a response , MEA’s spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal gives an official statement denouncing these remarks. India also indicated that it is highly disappointed with these remarks given in a third world country which is friendly to both of the countries.Pakistan was continuously giving triggering statements threatening security. It also asked the world to interpret upon the diplomacy of Pakistan.These statements are also indicative of possible misuse of nuclear weaponry. These concerns are heightened by the close ties between Pakistan’s military and terrorist groups, raising serious global security risks, and is very irresponsible in nature, said India. 

“Nuclear sabre-rattling is Pakistan’s stock in-trade” saying that it has always been a strategy of Pakistan to threaten India and has firmly confirmed that it will not be afraid of such nuclear-war threats by Pakistan. India clearly stated their priority on protecting the nation from threats at any given time be it past, now and future. It also emphasized on taking necessary safety measures in order to safeguard national security.
