JSW MG Motor India introduced the fresh MG Hector to the domestic market starting from ₹11.99 lakh as a means to enhance its standing in the competitive mid-size SUV category. The new edition keeps Hector’s audacious design language while incorporating new elements of luxury and connectivity to achieve comfort. The new Hector still includes a large cabin with high-end interior finishes and a large touchscreen infotainment system featuring advanced connectivity features. The SUV is billed as a tech-focused model for those looking to drive more for comfort using digital in the car. The new Hector has been powered by multiple petrol and diesel models which means that its powertrain choices cater to various driving styles. MG Motor has been targeting increased ride quality and driving comfort for the SUV, and has made it accessible (regardless of duration whether you are a metro commuter or traveling longer distances). The pricing strategy is aimed at keeping the Hector competitive with existing rivals in its market segment, industry analysts said. Amid intensifying competitive pressures and changing consumer demands, MG Motor is betting on value pricing, technology and space to ensure demand will continue. And it launches as automakers double-down on their mid-size SUV models, positioning the Hector’s package of features as a clear differentiator in a crowded market.
Dealers are hoping the revised Hector benefits from strong brand recall and an existing customer base particularly in urban and semi-urban markets. The SUV’s focus on space, comfort and connected features continues to appeal to family buyers and professionals seeking a tech-heavy vehicle without moving into the premium price bracket. MG Motor India will also be further growing its service network and after-sales support as new products launch. As the Hector plays a leading role in the company’s India strategy, the refreshed model is expected to remain a volume driver as competition in the mid-size SUV segment heats up.
