According to preliminary trends data released by the SIMC Wire, BJP is ahead in 12 out of 33 seats that have begun counting. Eknath Shinde’s Shiv-Sena trails the BJP closely by securing 8 seats.
Aurangabad employs a multi-vote system, allowing voters to cast their votes for a panel of 3-4 candidates based on their ward. At the same time, Shiv Sena (UBT) and Indian National Congress are tied with 4 seats each.
