Mukul Roy had close ties with Mamta Banerjee

Senior lawmaker and previous Union Railroad Minister Mukul Roy passed away at 1:30 a.m. at a private clinic in Kolkata after a drawn out ailment. His child, Subhranshu Roy, said that he had been in a coma for a few days and kicked the bucket after a gigantic cardiac capture. He had been enduring different sicknesses and was experiencing treatment.

One of the founding individuals of the All India Trinamool Congress, Mr. Roy was broadly respected as the “Chanakya” of West Bengal legislative issues. Some time recently the rise of Abhishek Banerjee inside the party, he was considered its most compelling pioneer.

Ms. Banerjee portrayed him as her “long-time political colleague and comrade-in-arms,” saying his passing cleared out her grief. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too condoled his passing, recollecting his political encounter and benefit to society.
