For the Nagpur Municipal Corporation election, counting of votes began at 10 am on Friday. The polling was held on January 15 alongside elections to 28 other local bodies across Maharashtra. The election saw a voter turnout of 51 per cent on Thursday, January 15. Among those who casted their vote were Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

Out of 151 wards, BJP is leading in 76 leaving Congress behind at 22. The process of vote counting is still underway across wards. More clarity is expected as additional rounds are completed.
